Mike Dalby has been a resident of Lubbock county for more than 25 years. After attending Texas Tech University, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Following his time in the military, Mike was a volunteer firefighter at Slaton Volunteer Fire Department and worked for West Carlisle Volunteer Fire Department before being hired by Lubbock Fire Rescue. Mike devoted 11 years to the citizens of Lubbock as a professional firefighter prior to pursuing his passion of becoming a professional pilot. After achieving his ATP certification, he flew for Mesa Airlines ahead of transitioning into corporate aviation where he captains both Lear 45 and Citation XL jets. He feels truly blessed to work for a company that is supportive and shares his love of God while serving their community.
Mike has served on the Covenant Medical Center Development Committee, Joe Arrington Cancer Center Development Committee and was a privileged member of the Texas South Plains Honor Flight. He participated in multiple trips with local veterans to Washington DC where they were able to visit war and service memorials built in their honor.
In addition to his duties as County Commissioner Precinct 1, Mike also serves on the Metropolitan Planning Organization Board as well as the South Plains Association of Government Board of Directors and is the Deputy Lubbock County Emergency Management Director.
Mike’s wife and best friend, Jordyn, is a Nurse Practitioner for Lubbock Digestive Disease Associates. They are the proud parents of three children, Ava, Andrew and Shelbi. They are active members at Hillside Christian Church and participate in numerous charitable events. Mike Dalby is a dedicated husband, father, christian, community leader and proud resident of Lubbock County.
